Senior Consultant, CRU

Ksenia von Gernet joined CRU Analysis in November 2010 as a Research Analyst in the Steel team. She established CRU's coverage of the CIS steelmaking sector with a particular focus on the metallics, semi-finished and finished steel markets.

Ksenia introduced CIS regional chapters in CRU's portfolio of Steel publications and developed a network of contacts in the industry for producing in-house steel price assessments. She has also spoken at several industry conferences on the steel and ferrous scrap markets and has undertaken field research in Russia, Ukraine and Belarus.

In August 2013, Ksenia moved to CRU Consulting, working on projects in Iron Ore and Steel as well as Fertilizers and Non-ferrous metals sectors. Recent projects include developing a market diversification strategy for one of Eastern Europe's leading fertilizer producers and assisting in the preparation of several independent market consultant's reports for lenders to Greenfield projects in the iron ore and fertilizer sectors.

Ksenia holds an MSc in Banking and Finance from Queen Mary College, University of London. Prior to this, Ksenia studied Economics at Moscow University for the Humanities, Russia. Ksenia is fluent in English and Russian.
