Vomic Nur Shah is the Regional Head for Business Development at UK Export Finance leading UKEF’s business development efforts in Europe, Eurasia, Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
UKEF is the UK’s export credit agency with a mission to ensure that no viable UK export falls for lack of finance or insurance. It supports long term economic growth and competitiveness by complementing the private market with insurance for exporters, loan guarantees to banks, and support for and provision of loans to overseas buyers of UK goods and services.
Vomic is a seasoned professional in international finance with a career spanning over 15 years.
Before moving to public service in Her Majesty’s Government, Vomic held various leadership positions in corporate and investment banking, most recently with the French multi-national bank, Societe Generale, in London. At Societe Generale, Vomic headed the Mining and Natural Resources sector for the bank and covered a number of growth markets, including Central Asia.
Prior to that, Vomic worked at leading international banks including Citigroup, Standard Bank and HSBC.
During his career, Vomic has originated and executed cross-border transactions globally, and has worked closely with both the private sector and state authorities. He has had a particular focus on emerging markets providing both strategic advice as well as delivering structured financing solutions for projects across the CIS region, Middle East, Asia, Africa and Eastern Europe.
